Sonia Gandhi's assets jump Rs 72 lakh in five years to Rs 12.53 crore; has property in Italy, but no car
Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi's assets have increased by Rs 72 lakh to Rs 12.53 crore in last five years, as per her affidavit for Rajya Sabha nomination papers. The Congress Rajya Sabha candidate from Rajasthan, however, has no vehicle in her name.
Additionally, Sonia Gandhi has mentioned her share in her ancestral property in Italy, which is currently valued at over Rs 26 lakhs.
She possesses 88 kg of silver and 1267 grams of gold and jewelry. Furthermore, Sonia Gandhi owns three bighas (2529.28 square meters) of agricultural land in Dera Mandi village, New Delhi. The market value of this property is estimated to be Rs 5.88 crore at the current market rate.
In terms of income, she receives a salary as an MP, royalty income, interest on bank deposits, dividends from mutual funds, and capital gains. She also receives royalties from various publishers, including Penguin Book India, Oxford University Press, Ananda Publishers, and Continental Publications. The affidavit mentions a royalty receipt of Rs 1.69 lakh from Oxford University Press.\
As per the affidavit, Sonia Gandhi has a pending case related to the National Herald case, filed on charges of fraud and irregularities. The case is currently being heard in the Rouse Avenue Court of New Delhi under sections 420, 120B, 403, and 406. It is worth noting that the trial court process has been stayed by the Delhi High Court since February 22, 2022.
Sonia Gandhi has decided not to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha polls due to health and age issues.
In an emotional message to the constituents of the segment she has represented since 2004, the 77-year-old said, "I am proud to say that whatever I am today, I am because of you and I have always done my best to honor your trust. Now on account of health and age issues, I will not contest the next Lok Sabha election."
"After this decision, I will not have the opportunity to serve you directly but my heart and soul will always remain with you.
I know that you will stand by me and my family in future, just as you have in the past," she said in the message written in Hindi.
Speculation is rife that Sonia Gandhi's daughter Priyanka Gandhi Vadra could contest from the Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituency this time.
I hope you would love it and gonna support me..;
THANK YOU ЁЯР▒ЁЯзБ:)
